Good Cargo Bike

Thank you Biktrix for arranging shipment of the Skycap 2 to Kaua'i, many companies simply refuse to deal with the headache. Mahalo. We are using it to haul SCUBA tanks to/from the beach, it's been very useful and solid.

I love my Skycap 2!

After much research I chose the Biktrix Skycap 2 to haul my work gear and 2 kids around and I couldn't be happier! It is sturdy, fast in a controlled way, and super efficient. It is heavy, The only thing I would change would be to put the foot boards back a bit, as my heels hit them if I ride on my toes, but it hasn't bothered me. Excited to ride all summer and through the year!

Great for kid-hauling

This bike is excellent value for the money. It has adequate power for mild hills even with a kid on the back. The stopping power from the hydraulic brakes is good too. The frame is solid and the display works well (I have tested it in -5C and it still works fine). I am 5'4" tall and the bike fits me perfectly with the seat almost all the way down. It is a bit heavy, but that is to be expected with a cargo bike. All-in-all, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

My first impressions

I just receive a Sky Cap 2 E Bike. The principal reason to buy this Cargo E Bike is to replace my car for differents short trips to grocery or others simple purchases.

I am quite satisfied by the motor, the solid frame and the quality of LCD Display and the control pad. The shipping were Ok.

However, I realise that you conception of the Sky Cap is mostly oriented to carry kids. That was not my objective. So I had to do some adaptations to place a permanent canvas Pannier Bag and a large basket on your rear rack.

It seem to me, that you should developed those types of accessories for those who want to carry materiel instead of kids.

A last comment concerns the handlebar. Your conception give very little adjusment possibilities. In this regard, the handle bar of your competitor Rad Power offer more possibilities to adjust for small or tall people.

Thank you

Riding with kids

I read many reviews before purchasing and found them helpful so I thought I’d share what would have been helpful to me:
I ride with a 6 and 2 year old on the back. I have a Thule Yepp squeezed between the Biktrix monkey bars for my younger kid. Helpfully, the Biktrix team tested this set up when I asked. They said it was a tight squeeze for the seat and didn’t necessarily recommend it but I went for it anyway. If for any reason you had to take the seat off and on I wouldn’t recommend it either but once you get it in it’s totally fine. I won’t be taking it off til my son outgrows it anyway.
I ride the bike primarily on a gravel pathway and it’s really great over that terrain, even on loose gravel it does fine.
It is heavy and can be a bit hard to manage the weight when the kids are on it and I’m doing small movements (trying to get to a crosswalk button for eg), but once I get riding that isn’t a bother.
I have loved riding this with my kids. It makes errands fun. It can be as much or as little exercise as you like, depending on the assist you choose. It was really easy to put together and the price was really competitive with other options especially because things like the foot rests come standard. But just after I bought it it went on sale $800 off and that stung a bit. Sales do come up and waiting for them is a good idea if you have the time.
Really pleased so far, would recommend.
